There’s an exciting event coming to your computer screen, and we wanted to be sure you knew about it. Earlier this year, Prevent Harm and our sister organization, the Environmental Health Strategy Center, screened the critically acclaimed HBO documentary “Toxic Hot Seat” at locations all across Maine. If you missed the showings, or want to check it out again—then we’ve got some good news! Safer Chemicals Healthy Families will be screening Toxic Hot Seat online from December 1st through December 7th.
The documentary tells the story about toxic flame retardants by following a courageous group of fire fighters and mothers, journalists and scientists, politicians and activists—including Maine’s own Hon. Hannah Pingree—as they fight to expose a shadowy campaign of deception that left a toxic legacy in our homes and bodies. Be sure to tell you friends and family about this opportunity, or invite them over to watch together.
You can join our virtual chatroom after 7 pm on Tuesday, Dec 2nd to discuss the film while you watch: bit.ly/toxichotseatwatchparty
